Romain Vincelot On The Road To Recovery

9 February 2019

Romain has surgery on knee injury and should be back in six weeks

Romain Vincelot picked up an injury in Tuesday nights game away to Wolves after a challenge with Ivan Cavalerio saw Romain’s evening cut short.

He left Molineux on crutches and was booked in for a scan and to see a specialist on Thursday.

The scan has revealed that he has damaged the medial meniscus on his left knee and will need surgery.

Romain will have surgery today (Saturday) and should be back in training in around six weeks.

Shrewsbury Town manager Sam Ricketts says that Romain will get all the support to hopefully see him back playing very shortly.

“It is a big disappointment to see Romain pick up an injury so soon into his time with us”, said Sam.

“The medical staff have worked quickly to get him assessed and now scheduled for an operation on the damage.

“It is good news that Romain should be back with us before the end of the season and I’m sure he will play his part in the team.

“Everyone will give him their support during the rehab in and around the training ground.”
