Sam Ricketts Pre Burton Albion

14 February 2019

Sam Ricketts previews Town's fixture with Burton Albion.

Shrewsbury Town take on Burton Albion this weekend as Town return to the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Town will be looking to go a step further off the back of Town’s draw with Bristol Rovers by getting all three points.

Sam Ricketts was pleased with his teams performance last time out and hopes to see a similar performance in the next fixture.

“I was disappointed to not have won the game,” said Sam. “Ultimately you have to look back at what we had to overcome.

“We can look back and it can be seen as a good point on the road.

“I felt like so much went against us in that game and Dave’s red card was the final bit.

“It was bitterly disappointing because we finally managed to get Dave back on the pitch.

“Now unfortunately he is going to be missing for the next three games."

Sam is expecting a tough game against the Brewers but hopes to see his team achieve the win.

“Coming back home is always good,” Town’s manager said. “We are looking forward to it.

“We are looking forward to hopefully putting in a really good performance. We will certainly be trying to get that win

“Burton are really fluid with the ball and they move around really well. They are good at that and can open up any team.

“It’s going to be a tough game in that respect, but likewise, we have shown what performances we are capable of.

“Now it’s about putting those performances into the league and giving us the best chance of winning games.

“It’s really important now that if you are going to play, you will have to play well because there will be someone else itching to play as well.

“Wins are really important and we have probably drawn too many. If we swapped those draws for wins it would paint a different picture.”
