Sam Ricketts looks ahead to Town's clash with Doncaster Rovers.
Shrewsbury Town welcome Doncaster Rovers to the Montgomery Waters Meadow tomorrow evening.
Town will be looking to make it back-to-back wins after a good performance away to Peterborough United.
Sam was pleased with his team’s performance and hopes to see more positive play in the upcoming fixture.
“The win was important,” said Town’s manager. “It signifies two weeks work with the players on the training ground.
“The biggest thing is the reward for the players after all the effort that they have put in.
“There is a fine line between getting them on the training ground and making them work, and giving them time to recover.
“It was the perfect medicine for all the hard work. The players can now see and believe in what we are trying to do.
“We moved the ball really well at times. It was the best performance, in the league, that we have had away.
“We tried to switch the ball a bit, we tried to get the midfielders on the ball with plenty of attacking players on the pitch.
“At times we were very resolute with our defensive shape in general, albeit conceding from a set-piece, which was disappointing.
“I thought we defended well and nullified an awful lot of their threat.”
Sam is expecting a tough test against Doncaster, who currently sit in the top end of the table.
“Doncaster are a really good side with some really good players,” said Sam. “They are towards the top of the table.
“But I do also feel any team, in any position, can beat anyone in this league – as it has been shown time and time again.
“We are capable of doing it and capable of matching our performance from the weekend.
“We also know that it’s a tough game against a tough opponent who move the ball particularly well.
“Consistency is the most important thing for any side, so we have to maintain our levels and get another result.
“That will build more confidence and composure when trying to see games out.”
