Scott Golbourne Pre Peterborough United

22 February 2019

Scott Golbourne previews Town's trip to Peterborough United.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road again this weekend as Sam Ricketts’ men take on Peterborough United.

Town will be looking to go three games unbeaten and will be hoping to leave the London Road Stadium with a win.

Scott Golbourne felt his team deserved a point last time out and admits he saw encouraging signs from his team.

“It was probably a fair result,” said the defender. “We would have definitely liked to have got more from the game.

“We would have liked to take three points from the last two fixtures to be honest.

“Looking back they were probably both fair results and they will be good points come the end.

“Burton were a Championship side last year, play good football and they manoeuvre the ball quite well.

“All of their team are quite comfortable on the ball and they can cause problems.

“All be it the performance was quite flat and the game was quite flat – it was due to our set up and how we reduced them to little chances.

“That slight change of shape has gave us solidity, but we definitely need to do more in an attacking sense.”

Scott is looking forward to the clash with Peterborough and feels his team can leave with a win.

“Peterborough normally take quite a lot of risks,” said Scott. “They play attacking football and normally leave themselves open a little bit.

“They are also a counter attacking team and let you get on with attacking.

“Peterborough are known for high scoring games and that’s the nature of how they play.

“They are pushing and points are important to them as well, so it will be a good game full of action.

“They have some good ability in their side, so it will be a good test for us – especially defensively.

“We believe we have enough to impose ourselves on them and cause some problems.”
