Tyrese Campbell Post Burton Albion

17 February 2019

Tyrese Campbell reflects on Town's draw with Burton Albion.

Shrewsbury Town battled it out with Burton Albion to earn a point at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Tyrese Campbell managed to net his first goal for Town but his team were unable to secure all three points against the Brewers.

Tyrese was pleased to have opened his account for Town but feels disappointed his team couldn’t get the win.

“It’s always a good moment,” said the striker. “It’s the first league goal in my professional career, so it’s a nice feeling.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t get the win but I thought the lads dug in and did well to get a point in the end.

“I had a lot of time when I went through. The ball broke lose and I reacted quickly to it.

“As I looked up the keeper left a lot of space on the one side, so just put it in there.

“It was a great feeling and I was just happy that I have finally got it with not too many games played. I just hope that I can build on it and go again in the next game.

“As a team I thought we played well and tried to exploit their weaknesses. We wanted to use the pace we have to get in behind their defence.

“At times we did it well and other times I thought we could have kept the ball better and relaxed a bit more.”

Tyrese is enjoying his time at the club and hopes to help his team climb the table in the coming weeks.

“I am really enjoying it,” said Tyrese. “Everyone has been good with me and helped me settle in.

“Hopefully we can get some wins together to get the team away from the relegation zone.

“I have come here to play games and get goals. I am trying to build up my match fitness.

“With the team that we have got – we are more than capable of getting some wind together.

“I don’t think the team are showing what they can do. We know we should be higher in the league.”
