Eisa Joins Colchester

29 January 2019

Loan move until the end of the season

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Abo Eisa will spend the remainder of the season out on loan with Colchester United.

The winger will join up with the Sky Bet League Two side as they push for a Play-Off position.

The winger is pleased to have the move over the line and is looking forward to getting game time under his belt.

“I’m sure with me going out on-loan and getting games it will help me feature more here in the Shrewsbury team,” said Abo.

“I think the most important thing for any player is getting games and showing people what you’re about.

“I don’t have enormous experience in the pro game as I haven’t played so much. I think this is a very good opportunity for me.

“I need a body of work. We always need to improve and always need to learn – especially at a young age. Playing is the best way to learn.”

Abo is pleased his efforts have secured him and new one-year contract and is looking forward to working with Sam Ricketts.

“It’s a nice feeling to be wanted,” said Abo. “For Sam to give me a new contract it shows he believes in me and hopefully we will have a good partnership in the future.

“We both wanted the same thing and I am thankful to him for allowing me to go out on loan.

“He knows that I need games, so I am thankful. I am at peace with everything and I can now just focus on football.

“Colchester want to come to League One, so they are pushing for the Play-Offs this year.

“I want to help them. They have ambition and I have ambition my self. It’s an extra incentive.”
