Greg Docherty post Wolves

27 January 2019

Greg Docherty refletcs on Town's 2-2 draw with Wolves.

Shrewsbury Town welcomed Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Montgomery Waters Meadow yesterday afternoon.

Town put in a great performance and managed to earn a FA Cup replay fixture at Molineux.

Greg Docherty was one of the Town men who managed to get on the score sheet and was ultimately disappointed to not have won the game.

“To be honest I am disappointed,” said the midfielder. “I think we of course should have seen the game out.

“We have give a really good account of ourselves but ultimately we should have come out with the win.

“But we are still in the hat and we will look forward to the trip to Molineux.

“Personally it was fantastic to get on the score sheet – it’s a great feeling. At the moment I am disappointed.

“I am sure once it settles we will all look back and think what a great experience it was coming up against guys of that calibre.

“We were thinking ‘this is it’ and we would have thoroughly deserved it. Our tactics worked and it was a bit of a sucker punch.”

Greg is looking forward to the replay and feels his team can upset the odds again on the road.

“If we keep this run going for the club it’s fantastic,” said Greg. “We are still in the hat and we will look forward to the draw.

“We will get to see who we could potentially get. We have been to Stoke already who realistically should be in the Premier League.

“Molineux is another ground to go and tick off and another great trip for the fans.

“Hopefully we can go and give a good account of ourselves. Wolves know what we are about now and I am sure it will be a great game.”
