James Bolton reflects on Town's defeat to Charlton

Shrewsbury Town were unable to secure three points against Charlton Athletic at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

The Addicks secured the three points with goals from Karlan Grant, Lyle Taylor and Darren Pratley.

James Bolton expressed his disappointment with his team's performance.

"I'm very disappointed and so are all the lads. I thought first half we played well and we were a bit unlucky to go a goal down. It was kind of a nothing goal. But then second half we just weren't good enough, simple as that."

"They had a quite a few one on ones which isn't good for us as defenders, we've got to take responsibility for that and be more solid but as a team, I just didn't think we were up for it which is disappointing.

James felt this result came as a bit of a surprise after impressive performances against Sunderland and Stoke.

"Yes, I thought we had a bit of momentum with performances, we just needed to get a win and I thought today was a massive chance to get a win against a good side.

"Steve has pulled off a few great saves, but at the end of the day it's not good enough at home, it could have been more.

"Charlton are a good side they're up there for a reason, but I fancy us at home against anybody, the way we have been playing. It's a hard one to take but we've got to dust ourselves down and go again on Tuesday."
