Keeper Set To Join Up

Reice Charles-Cook set to join on a short term contract once international clearance comes through

Town are set to complete the signing of goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Reice came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and went on to have spells with Coventry City and Swindon Town playing over 70 league games.

With Joel Coleman being recalled by Huddersfield Town and Cameron Gregory recovering from a stress fracture to his back Town have been short in the keeper area.

Reice trained with Town over the pre-season period and played in the pre-season game away to AFC Telford.  No permanent deal came at the time and he has spent the season since then with Sonderjyske in the top tier of Danish football.

The move will be finalised once international clearance comes through.

Town manager Sam Ricketts is pleased to have brought another keeper into the squad.

“Plans have been a foot to bring in a couple of keepers as we are short in that area with Joel going back and Cam being injured”, said Sam.

“Reice will join the club, he hasn’t had a club in this country this year so this has given him the opportunity to come in and train with us and showcase his talents.

“It is an area we have needed to fill a void in due to Joel Coleman going back to Huddersfield at short notice.

“Reice was available to come in but unfortunately the paperwork get held up so it’s taken longer than I would have liked due to waiting on international clearance from Denmark.

“He’s a good personality and a good person to have in the building, he was here in pre-season so everyone knows of him and he knows the club so that makes the settling in period a little easier.”
