First Half.

Bournemouth had a good opportunity to take the lead in the 7th minute when they were awarded a free kick 25 yards from goal. The free kick taken by Vincent on the left flank darted across the 6-yard line but the touch from a Bournemouth foot wasn’t enough to trouble Charles-Cook.

In the 18th minute, Town had a strong appeal for a hand ball waved away by the referee after a Shaun Whalley corner floated into the box. The referee’s decision was another corner however nothing developed from the following corner.

Bournemouth took the lead in the 21st minute. The move began after Ofoboroh did well to knock the ball past a Town man on the left wing. He carried on his run towards the corner flag but cut a pass back to number 3 on the edge of the box. He then threaded a ball through to O’Connell who shot first time inside the box into the bottom right of the goal.

Town came close to equalising in the 33rd minute. Another dangerous corner from Shaun Whalley found Holloway on the back post. Holloway volleyed the cross first time but the shot hit keeper Travers and the danger was cleared.

Mwandwe replaced Whalley in the 35th minute and soon made an impact with a dangerous low cross to Holloway inside the box. Holloway was unable to properly control the ball and his shot was intercepted.

Second Half.

Bournemouth started the second half strong. In the 51st minute, The Cherries doubled their lead after a pass from the right flank fell to Seaman on the edge of the box. He shot with power into the bottom right of the goal.

Town responded well with a good attack on the left wing. Trialist whipped a good cross into Angol who just couldn’t turn the ball towards goal.

Eisa produced a fantastic piece of individual skill in the 68th minute. He carried the ball from the halfway line, shrugged off two players and then cut back inside on the edge of the box losing another man which opened him up to have a shot. The shot was hit with power but central to goal meaning Travers could make the save.

Town pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute. Angol chased down a long ball and held it up by the corner flag. He turned and found Rowland on the edge of the box who delivered a superb floating cross to Holloway on the back post who headed home from a few yards out.

Town created the next dangerous attack with another good cross from Mwandwe, this time to Eisa on the back post. Eisa was inches away from getting a vital touch to send the ball towards goal.
