Omar Beckles post Blackpool

Omar's thoughts after a clean sheet and point on the road at Blackpool

Shrewsbury Town earned a point on the road against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Town secured a point and a clean sheet with a resolute and good defensive performance against the home side.

Omar Beckles was pleased with the performance but feels his team could have taken all three points.

“It was a positive afternoon,” said Omar. “It’s probably the most resolute we have been for a while now.

“It’s positive to get a point and a clean sheet. We felt comfortable as a side, so yeah it’s positive but not really the most exciting thing.

“We wanted to get three points, we know where we are in the table and we know we came here for all three points.

“It’s a little bit disappointing we didn’t get all three but we will be able to build from this.

“I want to be playing games consistently and I want to be playing games in my position.

“It was nice to finally get my opportunity and long may that continue.”

Omar also felt the new formation suited his game and feels comfortable operating in that area.

“I was quite comfortable in that formation,” said Omar. “I think the fact that I played fullback shows that I am agile, dynamic and I can get about.

“When you’re on that side you tend to find yourself in those positions.

“I felt it suited me, but what ever formation it is – I am more than happy in my position.

“The boys did well, we created some chances. Ok, we didn’t take them, but it’s a positive to know that we are creating chances.

“When you step away from a 0-0 without creating you’re thinking ‘Oh no, it’s not good’ but it’s a positive to know we still created chances.

“Hopefully next time we will be able to convert those chances and take all three points.”
