Sam Ricketts pre Bradford City

28 January 2019

Sam Ricketts looks ahead to Town's fixture with Bradford City.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road again as Town return to Sky Bet League One action.

Town travel to the Northern Commercials Stadium to take on Bradford City with the hope of taking three points away from the Bantams.

Sam Ricketts was pleased with his teams performance last time out and hopes to see the same standards in Town’s next tie.

“I am very proud and delighted for the players,” said Sam. “They carried out the game plan very well with their work ethic and quality.

“It’s tinged with disappointment when you don’t win the game after going so close to it.

“After such a good performance you want to get the full rewards of winning the game.

“Consistency is the biggest thing in football, so what I am trying to do is get a level of basics in the performance consistently.

“If you’re solid, you stick to the game plan and you have that little bit of quality the results will come."

Sam is looking forward to facing Bradford and hopes to see his team build on their recent performance.

“Every game has to be the same,” said Sam. “We want to be at that level of performance every week.

“If we can do that, we will perform and perform well which will get us those results.

“I am expecting Bradford to really come at us. They’re at home so they will be expected to go for it.

“They work incredibly hard and they really put a shift in. We have to accept that and know what we are going to face. It needs to be about our performance levels.

“We want to finish this season and strongly as we possibly can.”
