Supporters with spare tickets for Wolves game can get full refund at the ticket office
Tickets for the Emirates FA Cup game at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers have now sold out.
The ticket office has a waiting list in operation for supporters who are looking to purchase tickets for the game.
It’s been noted that a number of people have been offering tickets for sale or exchange online.
If supporters have tickets they don’t need anymore then they can easily be returned to the ticket office for a full refund.
Town CEO Brian Caldwell is urging anyone with tickets they don’t need anymore to get in touch with the ticket office.
“Anyone who has a spare ticket or a ticket they now do not need please return it to the ticket office for a refund”, said Brian.
“We do have a waiting list of Shrewsbury Town fans who want to come to the game and have loyalty points.
“We will make sure that any tickets returned go into the right hands.”
Each ticket that is sold for any game is traceable back to a supporter number. Brian is hoping that season ticket holders won’t try to sell tickets on or pass them into the hands of opposition supporters.
We are currently monitoring all social media platforms and anyone identified as advertising a ticket for sale will have their tickets cancelled and supporter number suspended.
“Every ticket is traceable back to a supporter number whether that is a season ticket holder or someone who has purchased tickets before”, said Brian.
“You are hoping your season ticket holders and supporters wouldn’t give their extra tickets to Wolves fans or sell them on.
“That is not right and we will take action against anyone we find doing that.”
Each turnstile at the Montgomery Waters Meadow has an operator and every ticket will be checked before entry. Brian reminded supporters that anyone trying to gain entry on ticket that is not for their correct age group would not get in.
“One of the benefits of having turnstiles operators is that every ticket is checked before a supporter gets in”, said Brian.
“They will be checking the ticket and make sure that the age category is correct.
“If it isn’t then that person won’t get into the game.”
