SLO Announced

5 July 2019

Shrewsbury Town are delighted to confirm that Roger Groves and Mike Davis have agreed to take over as the club’s Supporter Liaison Officers.

The role has become a more important one and every club in the EFL has a Supporter Liaison Officer whose responsibilities are not only to act as a point of contact for supporters but also to deliver the club's policy with regards to its stakeholders in so far as that policy concerns supporters; and to liaise with the club's management with regard to supporter issues.

Town CEO Brian Caldwell covered the role but it was felt that Roger and Mike would be the perfect candidates to take over from Brian.

Supporters can get in touch with the SLO’s by email on slo@shrewsburytown.co.uk, or on Twitter at @Shrews_SLO or by finding Roger or Mike on matchdays.

Shrewsbury Town CEO Brian Caldwell is delighted to have two very capable people now taking over the SLO role.

“I’m delighted about that, it’s something I’ve taken on since I joined the club and I don’t think we have really done the role justice”, said Brian.

“It takes time to get involved and with our good relationship between all the fans in the Supporters Parliament it is really important to continue that.

“Mike and Roger have stepped up to the plate recently with the safe standing and they are very organised, very particular in the way that they do things and very capable.

“It is a role that we can potentially expand and give them as much backing as they need to benefit the club and the supporters.

“A big part of the role is liaison between other clubs SLO’s and fan groups and these guys are very good at communication.”
