Banning Order Following Wolves Game

15 June 2019

A Shrewsbury man has been given a football banning order after he threw a missile during the Shrewsbury Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers FA Cup last season.

He threw the missile during the match on Saturday, January 26 and after reviewing the club’s CCTV footage this was passed onto the authorities.

At a hearing earlier this month he was banned from attending a football match for three years.

Six people have so far been given football banning orders in connection with the disorder that took place on Saturday, January 26, with other cases still set to go through the courts.

Superintendent Mo Lansdale said: "There is simply no place for disorder of any kind at football matches and we will not hesitate to take action against those who are responsible and ban them from future games."

The club continues to work closely with WMP to identify anyone whose behaviour risks bringing the good name of Shrewsbury Town into disrepute.
