Sky Bet League One Fixtures | Everything You Need To Know

19 June 2019

On Thursday morning, Town will find out the order in which they will be playing their 46 Sky Bet League One matches for the upcoming season. Here are a few things you need to know ahead of the 2019/20 fixture release.

WHEN ARE THEY BEING RELEASED?

Shrewsbury's fixtures will be released on www.shrewsburytown.com and all of the clubs social media channels at 9am on Thursday Morning. Fixtures will be able to download to your phone or computer following the announcement tomorrow morning.

Sam Ricketts' side's first game of their fifth consecutive season in Sky Bet League One will take place on the 3rd of August.

HOW ARE THE FIXTURES DECIDED?

There are a lot of factors that go into to deciding all of the EFL fixtures over the 2019/20 season. The Premier League and The EFL use a fixture computer that splits the season down into 'sets' and from there the teams will be put into pairs for home and away games which means those two clubs will play at home in the same round of fixtures. The computer must also take into consideration other cup games. A rule states that teams cannot be scheduled more than two home games in a row. The fixtures are then reviewed by the Association of Chief Police and British Transport Police representatives before being confirmed.

WILL ANY GAMES BE ON TV?

As always the club will update the fans on whether any of Town's fixtures are available to view on IFollow which proved very popular last season.

All fixtures will be announced with the normal 3pm kick off time at the start of the season before the TV picks are confirmed closer to the start of the season which means some fixtures are subject to change.
