Town Score High With Away Fans

8 June 2019

The annual EFL Away Supporters Experience Report’s have recently been released and Town have scored well with visitors to the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Every season the EFL asks for feedback from supporters to get their thoughts on the experience they get on their travels around the Sky Bet League.

Over the season the EFL gather feedback but also look at one specific game for further feedback. This season the visit of Coventry City was the chosen game.

The game took place on Saturday 22nd of December 2018 and the travelling Coventry fans gave us a score of 9 out of 10.

At Shrewsbury Town we try to make every supporters visit to the Montgomery Waters Meadow a pleasant one and reports like this are essential for helping us to achieve that.

Shrewsbury Town CEO Brian Caldwell has been working hard over the past seasons to help improve the matchday experience for all. He believes reports like this highlight that hard work and dedication from all the staff who help on matchday.

“It is great to receive such a good score from the Coventry game and it is always interesting to see what other visitors think when they come to Shrewsbury”, said Brian.

“We have done a lot of work to produce a number of guides which help share information which will be useful for when other sides visit us.

“Lawrence our safety officer has worked hard to improve signage and to make sure our stewards do all they can to help visitors.

“There have been a number of instances over the season where we have seen lovely stories highlighting the way our stewards have gone that extra mile to help the away fans.

“As with all reports we have gone through it and will be working hard to make sure we not only maintain those high standards but also do all we can to continue to improve.

“I would like to thank all those staff who put in such hard work on matchdays to help improve everyone’s matchday experience, reports like this are testimony to that hard work and dedication from them.”
