David Longwell reflects on Town's thrilling 4-3 win on penalties against AFC Telford United.

Town brought the Shropshire Senior Cup back to Shrewsbury last night after a 1-1 draw required a thrilling penalty shoot-out which ended 4-3 to Shrewsbury. Archie Elmore scored the first goal of the game in the 10th minute before Marcus Dinanga pulled one back for Telford in the 25th minute.

Academy Manager David Longwell was impressed with his side's performance and the experience they will have gained from the evening.

"It's a great experience for them," said David. "I think since I've come in they've shown a lot of personality and it's just trying to channel it.

"I thought tonight, their intensity, their enthusiasm and their performance was excellent.

"We're really proud of them and I thought they deserved to win it in the end.

"It's a great learning curve to go to penalties, we miss one and then they miss one, then we go on to win it.

"They worked really hard, as well as all the staff that's here, it's not the biggest trophy in the world but for them, it's a great experience, it's good for the club and it's good for the academy."
