Sam Ricketts Pre Rochdale

Sam Ricketts previews Town's trip to the Crown Oil Arena.

Shrewsbury Town travel to the Crown Oil Arena this weekend as Town take on Rochdale.

Town will be looking to extend the unbeaten run to six games with a win over the Dale.

Sam Ricketts is pleased with the recent results his team have picked up and hopes to see a level of consistency.

“The last game was just a continuation of where we are at,” said Town’s manager. “We are trying to build that consistency.

“We want to build that team consistency and the consistency within an individual performance.

“Wimbledon are a good side but we nullified a lot, which made it look like they didn’t want the win.

“We showed good control in the game and we are just working to try and keep that rolling.

“I think every game is winnable if I’m honest with you – whether it’s teams at the top or the bottom.

“We are getting there with individual performances as well. We try to rotate things to keep it fresh.

“We want to maintain that freshness mentally and physically to get that consistency.

“Going back to the weekend, we had 14 shots to their one in the game. That shows the level of control.”

Sam is expecting a tough game from Rochdale but hopes his team’s momentum will see them earn three points on the road.

“We aren’t sure what to expect now with them changing manager,” said Sam. “That puts everything in the air.

“We don’t know if it will be a continuation of what was happening before or if someone will come in and put their stamp on it.

“We will just have to wait and see. They are a side who are free-flowing and they score a few.

“They do concede a few, so that would suggest it will be an open game. We will go there prepared for whatever we may face.

“We just want to make sure we are ready. We can only focus on ourselves because it’s guessing games with seeing what Rochdale will throw at us.”
