Club listening to feedback after Burton opening and implement changes for AFC Wimbledon game
Smithy’s Bar opened for the first time as a fully-fledged supporters bar for the Burton Albion game. Supporters have made a number of different comments about their experiences. We thank everyone for their feedback and apologies to those whose experience wasn’t as they had expected.
The capacity of the bar has been set at 200 people and the maximum capacity was achieved in the run up to the game. In previous games before Shrewsbury Town In The Community took over the number using the bar was considerably less.
Ahead of the Burton Albion game the pumps and bar equipment was replaced and upgraded by our drinks partner Carlsberg. This will result in a better quality of drink and better quality of stock.
The prices have come inline with the prices of the other bars within the club's hospitality areas in the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
The number of staff serving on matchday was on par with the number previously working but from the next game an additional member of staff will be added behind the bar.
Behind the bar there are multiple serving points for each drink and multiple tills.
On the decking area we will be adding a matchday bottle bar and Woods will add a mobile bar and gazebo for the next Saturday match.
Away fans are currently welcome to use Smithy’s Bar and we will continue to monitor this on a game basis.
We will continue to monitor the use of the bar and look into the prices and if anything can be done on these.
