Steve Arnold Injury Update

28 March 2019

Sam Ricketts gives an update on Steve Arnold's injury.

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that goalkeeper Steve Arnold will miss the next four to five weeks due to injury.

Steve picked up a hamstring injury late on during the visit of Portsmouth last weekend.

Sam Rickets was disappointed Steve picked up the injury but is pleased his squad has cover and depth in the goalkeeping department.

“Steve is looking like he will be out for the rest of the season,” said Sam. “It’s a hamstring injury, which we have had scanned.

“It’s not looking great, so we are preparing for the worst – which is that he will be out for the rest of the season.

“This is why it was important in January that we brought in Jonathan Mitchell and Charles-Cook.

“Injuries do happen and we have to be prepared for them. We are pleased with the business that we did to bring these keepers in.”
