Kian Taylor picks up the Scholar of The Year Award 2019
It's been a great week for Taylor having recently signed his first pro deal with the club earlier in the week. Sunday night saw him pick up the Roland Wycherley Scholar of The Year awards sponsored by Shropshire Homes.
Kian spoke to Shrewsweb after the awards and was pleased that his hard work had been recognised.
“Yes, massively,” said Kian. “It’s the first year that Shrewsbury have done something like this so to be the first to receive the award I’m very pleased.
“David Longwell hasn’t been here long but I think I’ve made a good impression since his arrival. I’ve just got to carry on doing what I’m doing, he’s a good coach and I’m glad that he’s joined the club.
“I’m delighted to have just received a new contract as well, that’s massive for me and my family. Not many get this far so I’m very proud.
“Barnett and Sears are both very good players who have shown they can do it at first team level so I want to follow in their footsteps.
“Shrewsbury are good at bringing players through the academy, they give players chances so I want to push on next season.”
