Sam Ricketts gives his thoughts on signing forward Daniel Udoh.
Shrewsbury Town earlier confirmed the signing of Daniel Udoh from AFC Telford United.
Sam Ricketts made his second summer signing with the striker after bringing in Ethan Ebanks-Landell earlier on in the window.
Sam is pleased to have captured the forward and feels the 22-year-old has the potential and ability to boost the Shrews’ squad.
“Daniel is a player we noticed last season because of Ryan Barnett being on-loan at AFC Telford United,” said Sam.
“He’s a young player who is really driven to improve and get better. He can score goals and he works extremely hard.
“We feel there is an opportunity there for us to help him improve and there is a great chance of that because of his attitude. Hopefully he can be successful for us.”
Sam believes Udoh will be able to cope with the jump up the leagues and is looking forward to working with the forward.
“This is a big jump for him going up three leagues, but we have to work with him and improve him,” said Sam.
“We don’t know how he will react jumping up the leagues but we will keep working with him.
“The real attraction with Daniel is his attitude, his willingness to improve, and his desire to push himself. He can score goals as well.
“He will settle in well. He knows Fejiri and knows Brad Walker. Hopefully he will feel at home very quickly. That will allow his football to flourish.”
