Sam Ricketts gives his thoughts on the Junior Shrews End of Season Awards.
Shrewsbury Town hosted their annual Junior Shrews End of Season Awards with Sam Ricketts and the Shrews squad.
A number of Junior Shrews members attended the event and presented the Shrews squad with their awards.
Sam Ricketts enjoys taking his players to these events and sees the value of community engagement.
“These events are always good,” said Town’s manager. “It continues what the club stands for.
“We are a football club but we represent the community. It’s great to get amongst the supporters and the young supporters.
“These youngsters will be supporting this club for the rest of their lives. A couple of the players got awards so they will be walking away happy too.
“It’s really important that the players understand what the club stands for. We are a community club, so that means the players have to give up their time.
“The players do things like this throughout the year. Some people may not notice but they do give up their time to engage with the supporters.
“They are always out in the community, whether that be for good causes or giving awards away.”
