Sam Ricketts confirms Shrewsbury Town appeal.
Shrewsbury Town can confirm an appeal has been lodged in relation to Aaron Pierre’s suspension following on from an incident during the Bristol Rovers home fixture.
Speaking to the press, Sam Ricketts confirmed the decision to appeal the suspension and hopes the FA rescind the judgment.
“Aaron got sighted for a supposed head-butt,” said Sam. “He was trying to break up the melee which was a result of the referee not giving a penalty on the weekend.
“The FA have gone back over the footage and deemed that he’s tried to head-butt one of their players. That is the furthest from the truth, he wasn’t aggressive before or after the incident.
“He was trying to separate players, let alone instigate anything. We have appealed and we will have to wait and see what the outcome is.”
