The U-18’s created several chances in the second half, in which the dominated the game but couldn’t find the cutting edge to take the lead.

The best chance of the game came from the penalty spot, Ward stepped up to take the spot-kick but placed it wide of the post. He said; “I’m not going to dwell on it now. I will just put the miss behind, but I’ll be putting myself forward to take the next one”.

The improved fitness of the team was apparent throughout especially their energy right to the final whistle, Ward said; “We have worked on attacking on the front foot in training a lot.

“Since David has come in, we have been working hard on our fitness but it is paying off, it’s been hard work but it’s worth it.
