Sam On The Internationals

8 October 2019

Town go into the international break once again with three players called up to represent their countries, giving Town another Saturday without a game.

Aaron Pierre and Omar Beckles had been called up for the Grenada squad to play French Guiana, and Ryan Giles was called up to the England U20 squad over the weekend.

Grenada travel to French Guiana on Friday 11th before the return game back in Grenada on Monday 14th. The Young Lions have games away to Italy on Thursday 10th before taking on the Czech Republic on Monday 14th at Peterborough United.

Sam spoke about the call-ups during his pre-match ahead of tonight's Trophy game with Newcastle United U21s.

"It's really good that all three have been called up again. It shows what we're trying to do.

"It's a great experience, but I'd like them to be here and have a little rest, but that's from my point of view, but from a player's point of view it's a great experience for them.

"They'll love going away, learning and improving and they'll come back ready for the next League game.

"Aaron picked up a little knock, and he's got himself back fit really quickly, which is great.

"Omar has been in really good form and so has Ryan as well, and they've all deserved their chance to go and represent their country."
