Sean Goss Pre Tranmere Rovers

Town's midfield maestro, Sean Goss talks to Shrewsweb ahead of Saturday's away trip to Prenton Park. Sean has made a significant impact in Town's midfield since he signed earlier in the season.

Sean has been with Town for a couple of months now and has settled in well. He gives ShrewsWeb an update on life here at Town. "It's brilliant. I'm really enjoying it. All the lads have been good, the staff have really helped me as well. Just getting back playing has been the main thing for me and I'm really enjoying it here."

Town signed Jason Cummings on deadline day. Jason and Sean have a history of playing together after sharing the Ibrox at Rangers. "I knew a few of the other lads when I came in as well, Ro-Shaun and Donald, it always helps, and I think it's been good for Jase as well like you say, cause when he's come in as well, he knows someone when he comes in."

Ten games into the 2019/20 Sky Bet League One campaign, Sean gives Shrewsweb his thoughts on Town's start to the season. "I think we've been good; I think there's been a lot of results where we wished we could've got more, a couple of draws, and then there's the weekend that we're not very happy with. I think we started well and showed signs of what we can do, but it's about building on that and doing it for 90 minutes and getting three points against teams like that, and that will push us up the league table even more."

"I think everyone can see the quality we've got within the squads, it's not just the starting 11, we've got depth all over the park, and I know I was definitely impressed when I first came in and I know some of the other lads are as well so I think we've just got to push as hard as we can and finish as high as we can, and we've all got big aims for the season."

Sean has become a regular starter in Town's line-up and making himself ever so present with being in the midfield three. "It was tough, I didn't have much of a pre-season, but I felt like the games have helped me get going again, and I still don't think I'm 100% there, but I'm definitely building on it. I'd like to think I've still got a lot left to show. I'd like to get some goals in my game as well, that's one of the main things I want to bring. But like I've said, the games have helped me, and I think I've just got to push on from here."

"They're going be tough. I don't think there are many easy games in League One if any so we've got to be on our game hopefully we can go there and get the three points." Sean talks about Saturday's fixture away at Tranmere hoping to put things right after last week's defeat against Fleetwood. "We all do, even the changing room after the game, you can tell how deflated everyone was, but we said we've got to have a good week this week on the training pitch and go back out next week and get the result."

Sean said training has been positive this week. "We'd have liked a game earlier to try and put things right, but sometimes that doesn't work out, so we've had a good week, working hard, and hopefully we'll get out there on Saturday and get the three points."
