ACADEMY: Ethan O'Toole Post Port Vale

16 September 2019

ETHAN O’Toole has praised his team-mates morale and work ethic after their 5-0 win over Port Vale.

It was the first time this season that the young Shrews have secured back to back victories and O’Toole credits his team’s determination, he said; “The team morale is so high. In training everyone is trying their hardest.

“We had a spell of winning one game and then falling off next week. We spoke about it in training and this week we’ve gone out there and righted our wrongs”.

This was the team’s biggest victory of the season and they played with determination until the 90TH minute with Jamaine Turner soring the final goal of the game in injury time. O’Toole said; “It is very easy to get complacent when you are winning 3 or 4 nil.

“We talked about it at half time and knew we had to keep up the intensity. We are so big on keeping clean sheets and winning the game that we kept that up until the 90th minute and this week that paid off”.

Up next for O’Toole and his team-mates is Oldham, where they are hoping to record their first away victory of the season.

He said; “This was a good result (V Port Vale) but we won’t get to hung up on it and we will now focus on next week and try and win away.

“It was the first thing we spoke about after the game and how important it is that we back up this performance. We will have the same build up as we have had the last two week and prepare properly.

“I am just loving every minute of it and I’m already buzzing to play next week”.
