David Longwell Pre Salford City

6 September 2019

The boys are back home to the Sports Village and will be looking to put in another good performance against a side they haven't played before in the league.

Town's results so far have seen a few defeats but at U18 level it's more about the performances and in large parts, those have been good.

Academy Manager David Longwell is looking forward to the game and hoping the boys can get a result.

"It will be a good game, Salford are a very good side and have recruited well", said David.

"They have got a decent resource behind them with the connections they have, and this has seen them get some very good players.

"From our point of view it's another chance to show what we can do, they have shown in parts they can, but in others, they have made stupid mistakes.

"If we can eradicate that then I'm sure the game against Salford will be close and we can do well.

"Hopefully we can play well we can get a result, if we don't we move onto the next one as the important thing is the development of the players."

With the first team having a no game due to International call-ups it gives fans a chance to pop down the Sports Village.

"With the first team not playing due to the International break it gives fans the chance to come down", said David.

"The support so far has been great and it's always appreciated by the boys."

The game kicks off at 11 am at the Shrewsbury Sports Village (SY1 4RQ) and admission is free.
