Sam Ricketts has revealed that Dean Whitehead has taken the step up to become Assistant Manager as Graham Barrow and Jon Pitts depart from the club.
Sam Ricketts has decided to change the dynamic of his backroom staff, promoting Dean Whitehead to become his second in command as the vastly experienced Graham Barrow departs from the club due to personal reasons. Head of Performance, Jon Pitts, has also left the club.
Sam Ricketts explained to STFC how the dynamic has now changed. "We've rearranged a few things over the Summer," said Sam. "Jon Pitts is no longer with us, Graham Barrow has also left us. Graham has left for personal reasons but I will continue to stay in touch with him.
"The dynamic now is very simple, Dean Whitehead will step up to become Assistant Manager, so myself and Dean will become the coaching element of the backroom staff. As we all know, Dean has had great experience as a player and is now a young up-and-coming coach having already gained some great knowledge and experience working under some very, very good managers.
"I'm very happy with how things are now, pre-season has gone extremely well so far, I've been delighted with everything. Training has been very good with a very high standard so I'm pleased with how things are looking."
