Aaron Pierre previews Town's clash with Doncaster Rovers

22 December 2020

Aaron Pierre previews Town's Sky Bet League One away fixture with Doncaster Rovers.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road for a third consecutive away game as Salop take on Doncaster Rovers.

The Shrews will travel to the Keepmoat Stadium in search of three points after victories over Hull City and Lincoln City.

Salop defender Aaron Pierre is expecting a tough test from Donny but feels his team has enough to cause the home side problems.

On the break between games:

“We know the situation we are in with Covid-19 and it has affected a lot of clubs, so hopefully everyone is safe and healthy. Hopefully all at Sunderland recover as quickly as possible.

“The break will give us more energy after back-to-back wins so we want to keep that going. We have to maintain our standards even though our bodies are getting tired.

“When you get some momentum, you want to continue that into the next game and we need to get out the relegation zone - so in that respect, it wasn’t that much of a relief for us having a break."

On Doncaster.

“They are a footballing team, they like to play through the back, so we have to try and minimise their opportunities and just use what we have been doing in training.

“Everyone is positive and we want to put in another good performance, score goals, create chances, and just continue our form.

“If they win, they go top of the table so there is more pressure on them. We just have to do our jobs and we all know what we have to do - we feel confident.

“Fejiri (Okenabirhie) was obviously here last season so we know about him so that’s a positive for us. We just have to try to limit his chances and keep him away from our goal."
