Aaron Wilbraham previews Town's Papa John's Trophy clash with Lincoln City.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Lincoln City to Montgomery Waters Meadow for the first knockout stage game of the Papa John’s Trophy.

The Shrews will be looking to build on group-winning form against the Imps as Town look to progress into the competitor.

Town Assistant Manager, Aaron Wilbraham is looking forward to the tie and expects a tough test from Michael Appleton’s team.

On the fixture:

“When this competition first starts, players sometimes look at it as just another game but that changes the further you go. People start taking it more seriously when there is a chance of going far.

“I won it once with MK Dons and once with Bristol City and it can be a great experience. I think having me and the Gaffer in the changing room with that experience will help them.

“Lincoln have a very good team and are doing well this season. We will have to be on our game. They have a top manager so it will be tough. They are very expansive and they play out. They play very good football so we are expecting a tough game – they are a good side.”

On his first few days with Salop:

“It has been really good and I feel like I’ve settled in really well. I’ve got to know everybody and managed to go and watch an under-18’s game after training last week.

“Knowing the Manager has made it easier. I’ve always had a good relationship with him coming from my time at Bristol City. David Longwell has been really good with me.”
