Chairman awarded MBE

Shrewsbury Town Chairman, Roland Wycherley awarded MBE.

Shrewsbury Town Chairman Roland Wycherley has been awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in The New Year (2021) Honours List for his services to the Community in Shrewsbury.

The awards were announced today and recognise the contributions and achievements of people from all walks of life.

The MBE, or Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, is awarded by the Queen for a leading role at regional level.

Mr Wycherley has been a Director of Shrewsbury Town Football Club since 1992 and became Chairman of the Club in 1996. He is currently one of the longest-serving Chairmen in English Football.

Roland said: “I am extremely proud, honoured and delighted to receive this award, which was totally unexpected.”

Everyone at Shrewsbury Town Football Club would like to congratulate our Chairman on his award.
