Charlie Daniels previews Town's clash with Accrington Stanley

2 December 2020

Charlie Daniels gives his thoughts on Town's Sky Bet League One tie with Accrington Stanley.

Shrewsbury Town return to Sky Bet League One action with the visit of Accrington Stanley to Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Shrewsbury Town will welcome 2000 Salopians back to Montgomery Waters Meadow as Steve Cotterill's team search for all three points.

Town left-back Charlie Daniels is looking forward to the return to league action and gave his thoughts to the media on the tie.

On the return to league action with fans in the stadium:

“It will be amazing to have fans back, It’s what we have wanted for so long now, and now it’s down to us to put on a good performance. Not having fans is the biggest loss in football and 2,000 fans in the ground will be a huge help - with them behind us, it will only drive us forward.

“Accrington like to play football I know a couple of the lads who were with Bournemouth so I expect a tough game as usual in this league.

“The performances have been there but we've just conceded silly goals. We just need to get rid of these mistakes and it will change our fortunes -  I am sure of that”.

On early life under the new manager:

“It has been really good. He is getting us to play the way he wants and is implementing his style. It’s a lot to take in but we have to learn quickly. Winning breeds good habits so the chance to get back-to-back wins is a good thing.

On how he feels personally after such a busy Schedule:

“I feel really good. I was away from the game for a long period so to get back playing and doing what I love most is a great feeling and I am enjoying every minute of it. I am grateful for the opportunity the club has given me after so many clubs passed on me."
