Sean Goss gives his thoughts on Town's win over Hull City

13 December 2020

Sean Goss gives his post match thoughts following Town's Sky Bet League One win over Hull City.

Shrewsbury Town's afternoon in Hull ended with Salop taking home all three points from the Sky Bet League One leaders Hull City.

Charlie Daniels' first half goal proved to be instrumental as the Shrews secured the win with the defender's smart finish over Matt Ingram.

Town midfielder Sean Goss was delighted with the win and feels the Shrews' squad can build on recent performances.

On the result:

"We are buzzing and the lads have been working really hard this week. The new Gaffer has come in with loads of new ideas and everyone has bought into it - everyone is enjoying it and it showed on the pitch today.

"Hull are top of the table and doing well but we came here and showed what we are capable of. It was a first for me playing in that 10 position and it's a role I was looking forward to playing in.

"I really enjoyed the game and we worked well. I didn't know I could play league games so it has been a tough period. David Longwell has helped me out a lot as I was training with him."

"I am really grateful for the opportunity the new Manager has given me. He's given me a chance and I'm going to do everything I can to pay him back really. I am really enjoying playing under him and hopefully we can keep building.

"I want to play football here and that is my focus. Hopefully we can build on this performance and start pushing up the table. Nothing can beat getting that match time to build up fitness.

"I am grateful to be involved with the squad and being back playing again is a bonus - I am loving it. All the lads were together today and we feel like this is a great moment to kick on."
