Steve Cotterill previews Town's Boxing Day clash with Wigan Athletic

Steve Cotterill previews Town's Sky Bet League One Boxing Day clash with Wigan Athletic.

Shrewsbury Town are on the road this Boxing Day for a fourth consecutive time as Salop take on Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

Town will be hoping to make it four wins in as many games against the Latics after hitting fine Christmas form.

Steve Cotterill is expecting another stern test from the opposition but feels his team will be confident heading into the fixture.

On preparation and Wigan:

"The Christmas period is really active but it's just Saturday Tuesday games which we have been doing all month. There isn't a huge difference in training apart from fitting in your Christmas dinner.

"I know what being in administration does to you. It leaves that bit of uncertainty for everybody at the football club. They have some good players but they have also lost a lot of players. I think they are doing a very good job of holding everything together until a takeover happens.

"They aren't scared of playing off the strikers, it depends on what formation they use. They can do both styles and have played some good football in their build-up. It's important that your team has a clear idea, not necessarily an identity because everyone knows how to play against you.

"The lads were all good in training and we are looking forward to the game. We haven't got any new injuries. We have a few lads to still come back into the squad. Everyone else is all healthy and looking forward to the game."
