Steve Cotterill reflects on Town's 1-0 Sky Bet League One win over Hull City.
Shrewsbury Town secured an impressive three points over Sky Bet League One leaders Hull City with a 1-0 victory this afternoon.
Town took the lead through Charlie Daniels and managed to defend their lead until the final whistle to leave with the win.
Town Manager Steve Cotterill was pleased with the win and is delighted his team left the KCOM Stadium with all three points.
“We were looking forward to coming here. It certainly helped resting a few lads in the last game. It was a good performance from the boys today. We changed the system around 77 minutes and that slight tweak helped. For Hull City not to get a shot on target, we are absolutely delighted with that.
“I think we can be a little bit better in turnover because we had some golden opportunities to add to our first goal today. Dan Udoh was absolutely first class today and I singled him out in the dressing room.
“I thanked all the staff and all of the players for their efforts this week because it has been a whirlwind. There isn’t any time to take a deep breath so I thanked them, which is important.
“We upped the tempo in training on Tuesday and that was important. There has been a different look in their eyes since then. We want to make training quite high intensity when we can. Thursday and Friday were two really good preparation days leading into the game. We had them a little bit longer at the training ground on Thursday and that helps.”
