The latest occupants of Town's Best Seats in the House - Amy and Lillie Smith.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Amy Smith and her 12-year-old daughter Lillie to be the latest Salopians to use our Best Seats in the House. Nominated by Husband Andy, Amy was treated to the experience of watching Town's FA Cup upset against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup.
Due to an on-going illness, Amy is unable to enjoy match-days with her family due to the cold, and Town's heated seats provided a perfect opportunity to allow Amy to witness The Shrews in action with her daughter live at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Broadcasted live to the world, the pair featured on BBC's programming of the match and Town's Best Seats in the House initiative received high praise from a number of the BBC crew. Guy Mowbray said: "Behind Jurgen Klopp, who hasn't taken a seat all game, are the Best Seats in the House, occupied by Amy Smith and her 12-year-old Daughter - nominated by Amy's husband, Andy.
“It's something Shrewsbury do every match. Shrewsbury fans can nominate deserving causes. The reward for the day is heated seats and cup holders - lovely. Every club should do that - it's a great idea."
Former Everton and Barcelona star Gary Lineker noted the seats whilst in the pitch-side studio and added: "That's quite a good idea, the Best Seats in the House." Alan Shearer also gave his thoughts on Town's new feature: "It’s a brilliant idea, really, really good. [Ian] Wrighty wants to go and sit up there!"
