Callum Lang post Tranmere Rovers

26 February 2020

Callum Lang reflects on Town's loss to Tranmere Rovers.

Shrewsbury Town were unable to register consecutive wins last time out as the Shrews lost out to Tranmere Rovers.

Despite battling back from two goals down, the away side managed to notch a winner late on in injury time to secure the win.

Despite netting for Town, Callum Lang was left frustrated with the result and feels Town should have done more to secure a result.

“Obviously it’s really frustrating,” said Callum. “To play in a game like that is hard to take. I think we definitely deserved something from the game after our second-half performance. We can’t moan about it too much because of the way we started the game.

“We were sloppy in the first-half and to come back from two goals down is hard. We knew there were going to be chances. We took two chances but should have taken more. We looked a lot more like ourselves in the second-half but we are frustrated with the way it panned out.

“At half-time we were told to go out and get that first goal because it can turn the game on its head. It did and we put in a better performance in the second-half. To get nothing out of the game is really frustrating.

“We need to move on now. There are 13 games to go and we need to get as many points as we can out of it. We can't sit here and dwell, we have to keep on pushing and make sure we start gaining some points.

“We lost the game today down to the first two goals. If we had started sharper, we would have won that game. We need to make sure we are solid in the coming games. I get frustrated with myself when I don't put in the performance that I know I can.

“We are all working hard and we are all on the same page - we definitely want to turn this around. The lads were all gutted and we were all feeling the same. We are frustrated but we all have to be straight back at it.

“We have to keep going and keep pushing forward. We know what we need to do at Bristol Rovers. We want to put in a performance and come away with a good result. We have a good side and we can turn a corner.”
