Grenada FA President Cheney Joseph visits the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Grenada’s Football Association President, Cheney Joseph, to the Montgomery Waters Meadow for our fixture against Liverpool.
Cheney ventured to Shropshire all the way from the Caribbean to see his two Spice Boys, Aaron Pierre and Omar Beckles, in action against The Reds.
Speaking to Shrewsweb after the tie, Cheney said: “I have been very impressed, Shrewsbury are a very good team – they had a chance to win also. I like the spirit the team have, they work together. They were willing to fight for each other and I think Liverpool are lucky to be leaving with a draw.
“For sure, a friendly with Grenada and Shrewsbury will happen. I spoke to the Chairman already and we are working on the possibility of being able to bring an international team to Shrewsbury.
“We have a great relationship with the club and this club has embraced us – we want to make sure we keep it that way. This team has great potential and I have three players that they can have to make them even better.”
