Harry Gregg - Minutes Silence

19 February 2020

There will be a minutes silence ahead of Doncaster Rovers game

Ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Doncaster Rovers, there will be a minutes silence in memory of former manager Harry Gregg who sadly passed away early this week.

Harry Gregg who also played for Doncaster Rovers before moving on to Manchester United and Stoke City, also had manager roles with Town, Swansea City, Crewe Alexandra and Carlisle United after he hung up his boots.

Harry was a survivor of the Munich air disaster in February 1958 and helped save the lives of his teammates – including Sir Bobby Charlton, Jackie Blanchflower and Dennis Viollet – from the burning plane. Among others he helped were Vera Lukić, who was pregnant and her two-year-old daughter, Vesna, as well as his badly injured manager, Sir Matt Busby.
