Ex Shrewsbury Town manager has sadly passed away

The club is saddened by the news of the sad passing of former manager Harry Gregg.

Harry joined the club in 1968 to take over the managerial position after Arthur Rowley had left the club to join Sheffield United.

He stayed in charge of the club for four years with Town in the old Division Three, comfortably finishing mid table each season.

Harry made his name as a goalkeeper for Manchester United where he made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils under the leadership of Sir Matt Busby. He survived the Munich air disaster and was hailed a hero for his actions which saw him return to the burning plane to help save the lives of a number of people.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.
