Kayne Ramsay pre Accrington Stanley

11 February 2020

Kayne Ramsay reflects on his Salop debut ahead of Town's fixture with Accrington Stanley.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Accrington Stanley to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this evening for another Sky Bet League One fixture.

Town will be looking to build on the draw against MK Dons by securing all three points over John Coleman’s Accrington.

Town defender Kayne Ramsay enjoyed his recent debut with Salop and hopes to get more time on the pitch with the Shrews. "It was a good game and a hard one to start with," said the 19-year-old. "As a team, I think we did well and we knew what we had to do.

"We probably should have got the win and we were unfortunate not to have done so. The Manager told us what we had to do to stop them from scoring and how to break them down. The manager will want the same from us against Accrington - I think we will use a similar system.

"I had around 11 people come down for the game. After the game, when I walked out of the stadium, I just saw them all smiling - everyone was happy for me. The games I haven't played in have been good for me to see how the team plays and how other teams in League One play.

"Coming here is a massive opportunity for me. I know now after playing that the style of football suits me. I like the message the Manager likes to send and what he wants from me. It's a big step for me and it will help my career. The Gaffer was a right-back too so he will be able to help me and give me information."
