Omar Beckles pre Tranmere Rovers

Omar Beckles previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Tranmere Rovers.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Tranmere Rovers to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this evening for another Sky Bet League One fixture.

Salop will be targeting consecutive wins with the visit of Micky Mellon’s Tranmere after a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers last time out.

Omar Beckles is expecting a tough test from Tranmere but hopes to see Town register consecutive home wins with a result over the away side.

"A lot of teams of teams like to build from a  strong home record and we need to do that," said Omar. "Our home record isn't too bad considering the recent poor league form.

"I have played against Tranmere Rovers a few times. They are a hard-working and very honest team. It has been difficult for them after their FA Cup run. They are a decent side, but I like to think we have more than enough.

"If we can match and beat their work ethic, we have enough to go and get the three points. Our form hasn't been amazing so we aren't looking at their form.

"Hopefully we can get the better of them on the day. Morgan Ferrier is a major threat for them and we aren't taking them lightly.

"We are at our best when we are solid as a unit. When we are solid like last weekend, we can be a real force - hopefully we can build on that."

"You get used to the quick turnaround. I came from non-league where you play Saturday, have one day off and play again on Monday. For me, it hasn't been too out of the ordinary.

"Consecutive wins can be massive, we haven't done it enough this season. We want to be winning games full stop. If we can win two games on the bounce at home, it will be good for the lads' confidence.

"The fans will be massive. The fans have seen the space that we are in and have got behind us - that's massive for us and it helps. Hopefully we can keep bouncing off their energy. I would definitely love to score another goal, it’s always nice to get on the score sheet."
