Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One fixture with Doncaster Rovers.
Shrewsbury Town welcome Doncaster Rovers to the Montgomery Waters Meadow this weekend for another Sky Bet League One fixture.
The Shrews will be looking for three points against Darren Moore’s team who last lost out to Gillingham away from home.
Town Manager Sam Ricketts is expecting a tough test from Donny but expects his team to put in a good performance against the South-Yorkshire outfit.
“Doncaster are a good side and play good football,” said Sam. “We played them not so long ago so we will be aware of each other a little bit. They are a good side who try to play and are on a good run.
“Our preparation doesn’t change, it just means your understanding of them comes a little bit quicker. Although we played them quite recently, we have played a number of games since then.
“We have played around eight games since then. We will prepare as normal and do everything we can to get the result. We want to get results against every team and Doncaster Rovers are doing well.
"It’s a game we are ready for and will be looking forward to. We look at them as a team and work out what they are good at. They are very good at certain things and have some really good players.”
Sam is pleased his team were able to have a full week on the training pitch and hopes that extra time will puthis team in good stead going against Donny.
"It has been important for a number of reasons,” said Sam. “It doesn’t guarantee you anything but it does mean we have been able to recover well and do some work on the training field.
“We have been able to press reset a little bit after a really busy six weeks. We now want to have a real strong end to the season. We are pleased we’ve had a full week to prepare and now we want a positive performance.
“We go into Saturday Tuesday again next week but we want to get back to what we were doing in the first half of the season. The squad are ok. We have injuries that we can't do anything about but we are a little bit fresher and ready to go.”
