Sam Ricketts pre Tranmere Rovers

Sam Ricketts previews Town's Sky Bet League One clash with Tranmere Rovers.

Shrewsbury Town welcome Tranmere Rovers to the Montgomery Waters Meadow tomorrow evening for another Sky Bet League One fixture.

Salop will be targeting consecutive wins with the visit of Micky Mellon’s Tranmere after a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers last time out.

Town Manager Sam Ricketts is expecting a tough test from the away side but feels his team have enough to secure three points against the Birkenhead outfit.

“It’s a quick turnaround and we are now just seeing who will be available for the game,” said Sam. “We are very light on players after injuries at the weekend.

“We aren't reading too much into the league table or thier league form. We have to identify what they are good at and pick at their strengths. They have some experienced players who can score goals but we have to impose ourselves on the game as well as we can.

“Last week was the first time we had a free week for a long, long time. The quick turnaround is something we are used to. We would always like longer for preparation and recovery but that isn't an option -  we have to prepare as well as we can.

“You can’t beat winning games and performing well so everyone will be ready to go again. The fans will be vital for us again like they are in every game. We need the support, the players need support and it helps the lads reach that extra yard, extra block or that extra pass.

“We have a number of players who are out from the weekend and won't be available. There isn't anything we can do about it, we have to just get ready for the game.”
