Best Seats in the House - Jon and Cynthia

13 January 2020

Jon and Cynthia Ashcroft give their view on the Best Seats in the House.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club were delighted to welcome Jon and Cynthia Ashcroft to be the latest people to use our Best Seats in the House at the Lincoln City game on Saturday!

Sponsored by Shrewsbury-based Reach Digital Telecoms, Town have installed two Cobra heated seats with two USB ports and drinks holders situated on the half-way line behind our Sovereign seats.

As well as sitting in the Best Seats in the House, Cynthia and Jon were provided with complimentary food and drink, a match-day programme and STFC blankets to keep warm!

To celebrate the life of Jon’s father, the pair were invited to the Montgomery Waters Meadow to be a part of Town’s remembrance fixture - where each passing fan was honoured.

Jon and his mother, Cynthia, enjoyed their day out on Town and both were delighted with the hospitality the club were able to provide during the course of the day. Speaking to ShrewsWeb, Jon said: “It’s a great initiative. This is a family club and things like this really cement that ethos. It’s a great idea to nominate someone if anyone is thinking of it – why not?”

“I saw it advertised on the website and I was thinking forward to this fixture as it’s the Shrewsbury Town Remembrance Day. My Dad passed away about a year ago, so I thought it would be a nice thing for my Mom to come down to be in the best seats and see my Dad’s name scrolled on the score board.

“Years ago, before my Dad got too poorly, my Mom and Dad used to have season tickets. They always used to come and I’m now a season ticket holder. There is a connection with the Club. We’ve had season tickets since we were at the new ground.”

Cynthia also enjoyed her experience in the Best Seats in the House. She added: “The experience has been lovely, we have really enjoyed it. The seats are beautiful and everybody really looked after us.”
