Conor McAleny gives his thoughts on joining Salop.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Conor McAleny from Fleetwood Town.

The 27-year-old forward joins the Club on loan for the remainder of the season and is eligible for Town’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Rochdale.

The striker is pleased to have joined the Club and is looking forward to working with Salop. He said: “I am delighted and I can’t wait to get going now. I just want to score as many goals as I can and play as many games as I can.

“I will be taking it game by game and we will see where we end up in May. I feel good, I feel fit and I’m in a good place. I am just ready to hit the ground running now. I am familiar with a few of the lads so I’m sure I’ll settle in pretty quick.

“I know Graham, big G. I have worked with him before and he’s a top fella and a top coach. I am looking forward to working with him again.”

Conor also provided an insight into what The Shrews fans can expect from the forward come match-day. He said: "I am attack-minded and like to make things happen. I work hard for the team and hopefully I can chip in with a few goals here and there.

“The training ground is a great set-up, I was really impressed. The gym is great and it’s just a great set-up – I just want to get going now. I have set myself targets, I think every player sets their own little targets. I’ll let you know if I hit them at the end of the season.”
