Ryan Giles Recalled

17 January 2020

Ryan Giles returns to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Ryan Giles has been recalled by his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ryan joined Salop in the summer transfer window on loan and made 25 appearances for Sam Ricketts’s side – scoring one goal along the way on his debut.

Sam Ricketts admits he is disappointed with the wing-back’s departure but wishes him well at Wolves.

“Wolves have suffered a few injuries so he has been recalled,” said Sam. “He will go straight into their match-day squad. That is great for him but a little bit disappointing for us.

“We should be very proud of how Ryan has developed during his time with us. Maybe he will be able to come back. If not, it has been great to have him for six months and we wish him all the best.

“If you asked Ryan, he would tell you he has loved his time here. Although he’s excited to go back and be around the first-team there, he was eager to stay and be involved in what we are doing.

“We will be ready for the game but Ryan will be a miss. We have players who are ready to play and compete for that jersey.”

Shrewsbury Town would like to thank Ryan for his effort and determination whilst at the Club and wish him well for the future.
